Terms of Service

These Terms of Service govern your use of Slowletter. By creating an account or using the platform, you agree to them. Please read them carefully.

Last updated: 1 June 2026 — Effective: 1 June 2026

1. Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using Slowletter, you confirm that you are at least 13 years old, that you have read and understood these Terms, and that you agree to be bound by them. If you do not agree, do not use Slowletter.

If you are a minor under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you may only use Slowletter with the consent of a parent or legal guardian who has read and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.

These Terms form a binding agreement between you and Slowletter. We may update them; see section 18 for how we handle changes.

2. Eligibility

  • You must be at least 13 years of age to use Slowletter. If you are a minor under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you must have parental or guardian consent to use the service.
  • You must not be prohibited from using the service under the laws of your jurisdiction.
  • You may not create an account if we have previously terminated your account for a Terms violation.
  • You may only maintain one active account at a time.

3. Your account

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must notify us immediately at support@slowletter.app if you believe your account has been compromised.

You must provide accurate information when creating your account and keep it up to date. Impersonating another person or creating a misleading profile is prohibited.

Each account belongs solely to the person who created it. You may not transfer, sell, lend, or otherwise share your account with any other person. Creating multiple accounts, for example, to circumvent a ban, will result in permanent termination of all accounts.

Account deletion is permanent. When you delete your account, your identifying data is removed in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Deleted accounts cannot be recovered. Please be certain before deleting.

4. Using the platform

  • Use Slowletter to recruit users to third-party services or to advertise products or services without our permission.

5. Your content

You retain ownership of any content you create on Slowletter (letters, messages, profile text, and avatars). By submitting content, you grant Slowletter a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to store, transmit, and display that content solely for the purpose of operating and providing the service to you and the users you interact with.

You are responsible for your content. You represent that you own or have the necessary rights to any content you submit, and that it does not violate any third party’s rights or applicable law.

We may remove content that violates these Terms or our Community Guidelines, and we may suspend or terminate accounts that repeatedly or seriously breach them.

6. Safety, moderation, and user interactions

Slowletter provides tools to block users, report content, end connections, and control your discovery visibility. We review reports and take action in accordance with our moderation policies, which may include warnings, temporary restrictions, or permanent bans.

We do not guarantee that all content on Slowletter is safe, accurate, or appropriate. YOU ARE SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR INTERACTIONS WITH OTHER USERS. We make no representations or warranties about the conduct, identity, or intentions of any user.

Do not share your financial information (such as credit card or bank account details) with other users, and do not send money to other users. If you are in immediate danger, please contact your local emergency services.

7. Prohibited content, child safety

Slowletter maintains a strict zero-tolerance policy regarding any form of child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or child sexual exploitation. Any user found creating, sharing, distributing, or soliciting such content, or engaging in behaviour that promotes it, will have their account permanently and immediately banned.

We will report all such violations to the relevant authorities, including the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) and equivalent bodies in other jurisdictions, and will cooperate fully with law enforcement investigations.

Reports of suspected CSAM or exploitation can be submitted through the in-app reporting system or by emailing support@slowletter.app. All reports are treated with the utmost confidentiality.

8. Advertisements

Slowletter reserves the right to display advertisements within the service, either from Slowletter itself or from third-party partners. We will aim to keep advertising non-intrusive and clearly labelled. We do not share your personal data with advertisers for targeted advertising without your consent.

9. Payments and virtual currency

Slowletter may offer a virtual in-app currency or sending credits (“clouds”) that can be earned through activity or purchased. If purchases are available:

  • Payments are processed securely through the applicable platform or payment provider (such as the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, or a web payment processor). The terms of that provider govern the transaction. Refund and dispute requests must be directed to the provider used to make the purchase.
  • Virtual currency and credits have no monetary value outside the app and cannot be exchanged for cash or transferred between accounts.
  • If you initiate a chargeback or reverse a payment, we may immediately suspend or terminate your account at our discretion.
  • Unused virtual currency may be forfeited upon account deletion or termination.

10. Intellectual property

Slowletter and all intellectual property in the platform, including its name, logo, software, designs, illustrations, and written materials, are owned by or licensed to Slowletter. Nothing in these Terms grants you rights to use our intellectual property beyond what is strictly necessary to use the service.

11. Privacy

Our collection and use of personal data is governed by our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms. By using Slowletter, you agree to our data practices as described there.

12. Third-party services

Slowletter may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for their content, privacy practices, or terms. Your use of third-party services is governed by their own terms.

13. Disclaimers

Slowletter is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or harmful components.

We make no representation about the identity, intentions, or behaviour of any other user. Slowletter is a platform for connecting people; we are not a party to any relationship formed through it.

14. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Slowletter and its affiliates, officers, employees, and licensors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the platform, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or harm resulting from interactions with other users.

Our total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising under these Terms will not exceed the greater of (a) the amounts you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) USD 100.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain liabilities, so the above may not apply to you in full.

15. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Slowletter and its affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, or costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the platform, your content, or your violation of these Terms.

16. Termination

You may delete your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or terminate your access at any time if we have reason to believe you have violated these Terms or for any other reason in our reasonable discretion, with or without notice.

On termination, sections relating to intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, and governing law survive.

17. Governing law and disputes

We encourage you to contact us first at support@slowletter.app to resolve any dispute informally, most issues can be sorted out quickly this way. If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, it will be subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts. If you are a consumer in the EEA or UK, mandatory local consumer protection laws and the courts of your country of residence continue to apply and take precedence over anything in this section.

18. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. When we make material changes, we will provide reasonable notice by email or via a prominent in-app notice before the new Terms take effect. Your continued use of Slowletter after that date constitutes acceptance. If you do not agree, you may delete your account before the changes take effect.
